I've decided to make this thread in order to express my opinions of the new god cards coming out in a week and a half. In my opinion, Wizards Of The Coast has listened to the fanbase with these new cards as, unlike the last set where only Xenagos got any real competitive playing time, I can see at least 3 of these cards being used in competitive play. The biggest improvement is that 2 of the new gods are 3 taps, joining Thassa as the only three. Below are my opinions on each of them as well as their "Pros" & "Cons". I'll see if I can do this in future set releases so we can bypass the 50 mins it takes to talk about each one.
ATHREOS, GOD OF PASSAGE
Pros:This is my absolute favorite god in the new set. Let's start off with the CMC (Converted Mana Cost), it's only 3. Next is it's effect. "Whenever another creature you control dies, return it to your hand unless target opponent pays three.". This will make control decks think twice about using Supreme Verdict. Not to mention teamed up with Aegis Of The Gods from this set (which gives you Hexproof), will make an opponent pay three life to target you again. Also the current format is extremely supportive of this card. White's legion of low tap yet annoying creatures ( Soldier Of The Paragon, Imposing Sovereign, Banisher Priest, and Boros Reckoner) are great to use over & over again, and Black's control cards ( Thoughseize, Doom Blade, Hero's Downfall, and Desecration Demon) can insure nothing will get in your way of victory.
Cons: At a 5/4 it's the weakest of all gods. In any type of life-gain deck, this card's cost to put creatures in the graveyard would be easily payable. If somehow this card is put into the graveyard, It's effect doesn't work on itself.

IROAS, GOD OF VICTORY
Pros: Now this is amazing. At 7/4, Iroas is just one toughness short of his brother Mogis but comes with two effects. "Creatures you control can't be blocked except by two or more creatures.", and "Prevent all damage that would be dealt to attacking creatures you control.". The first effect means your army is twice as big as it seems when attacking. The surprising amount of good low tap white and red creatures in standard (Legion Loyalist, Ash Zealot, Boros Reckoner) means you will get through for damage. Mostly because your opponent will have to block him, and he will almost always be a creature since one Boros Reckoner makes him one (plus himself). His second effect means your attacking creatures are not going anywhere. No amount of power, deathtouch, or first strike is going to kill your creature... ever.
Cons: Without creatures to attack with, he's useless. So beware of control decks. Your creatures are not Indestructible, even when attacking. Since his effects are all based on offensive tactics, he lacks defense. However a certain Sun god may be able to lend a hand.

PHARIKA, GOD OF AFFLICTION
Pros: Another three tap, and a 5/5 for that matter. Her effect "1 Black/ 1 green: Exile target creature card from a graveyard. It's owner puts a 1/1 black and green snake enchanment creature with deathtouch onto the battlefield.", is an unexpecting doom blade to attacking creatures. It can be activated at any time and thus can lend a hand at any time. This would piss off anyone using an unearth deck.
Cons: The fact that it's only creatures limits its use. More limiting is that it goes to the owner of the card. The snake token is worthless against flying attacking creatures. Deathrite Shaman and Scavenging Ooze are much better cards to use in Standard. Both of them cost less and their effects cost less too. Not to mention they both hit any graveyard. Rest In Peace is a big kryponite.

KRUPHIX, GOD OF HORIZONS
Pros: This has to be the coolest artwork for a god yet. His second effect "If unused mana would empty from your mana pool, it becomes colorless mana instead." is amazing for making some really cool fun decks. Being able to stack it for a few turns and then summon an Eldrazi or Blightsteel or wipe the field with All Is Dust is really neat.
Cons: Cost way too much at 5. U/G is good enough without him. Not enough draw power inside standard to use his first effect effectively. No high costing artifact/ spell in standard worth using for his second effect.

KERANOS, GOD OF STORMS
I hope you liked my little breakdown of the new gods. I'll try to do more things like this in the forums as soon as I can. I hope you'll all tune in April 28th for the best of the rest spoilers.
Pros: Red/Blue decks thrive on spells, and this guy delivers in every way. Whatever you reveal is bad news for your opponent. Ether you get an extra card or lightning bolt something, your opponent won't like it. He's pretty sturdy at a 6/5.
Cons: Unless you like Frostborn Weird and Goblin Electromancer, this guy will almost never be a creature due to your focus on spells. The fact that you have to reveal your card gives your opponent useful information. And no shocker... he cost too much at 5.
